I’m an attorney in private practice. I’ve lived variously in Florida, Virginia, New York, Illinois, and Texas. I consider myself a paleconservative in the tradition of Robert Taft, Tom Fleming, Richard Weaver, Russell Kirk, and Edmund Burke.  I am a believing Catholic, and my political, economic, and philosophical views are heavily influenced by St. Thomas Aquinas and the tradition of Catholic Social Thought.

I’ve been blogging since 2003 on a wide range of subjects: foreign policy, history, politics, economics, education, culture, military policy, religion, immigration, and the suicidal liberalism at the heart of so much folly in the western world.  I studied philosophy as an undergraduate with a specific focus on classical and modern political philosophy and went on to study law upon graduation. Though I studied under many Straussians including Charles Kessler and Joseph Cropsey, I am anything but a neoconservative.

I hope you enjoy my writings.
