Obama, though he portrays himself as a post-racial healer, is willing to play the race card to win this election. He’s just thrown Democratic party elder statesman, Geraldine Ferraro, under the bus for pointing out the obvious: if Obama were a white man or a white woman, he wouldn’t be so close to winning the nomination.
Andrew Sullivan calls the Clinton’s despicable for their “hard ball” tactics, but, what game did he think everyone was playing? This is politics. Obama’s intimations about post-racial healing and connectedness are just as focus-grouped and artificial as every word out of Hillary’s mouth. He’s just smoother in the delivery. Plus, all of her attacks are moderate and reasonable considering what the Clintons are capable of and amount to the following: he’s inexperienced, he’s got skeletons, he’s got some bad associates, and the media’s given him a pass.
But it is an abnormal and fairly recent development that racism charges can simultaneously be perceived as the greatest social evil and also be the most common charge advanced by blacks seeking an advantage against whites.
The anti-racism of today is not rooted in justice. There is almost no racism in America today, and, even to the extent it exists, it does not explain persistent and growing black failure. Instead, the anti-racism of today is an ideology of power designed to identify, denounce, and avenge the imaginary white sources of black failure. Because this campaign is rooted not in justice but in furtherance of the Marxist goal of rearranging society by subordinating whites to minorities and newcomers, it knows no limits.
It would be nice to think Obama could assuage these disaffected groups, recreate conditions of a common national identity, and promote race relations based on mutual understanding and justice. His flowerly campaign rhetoric, however, does not match his gritty and dishonorable campaign tactics.
As I’ve said before, Obama will be a tragic figure if elected, because modern day leftism, as espoused in the Democratic Party, does not permit a vocabulary with which to provide limits to the dominant anti-white, anti-rich, anti-male, anti-Christian, anti-establishment, and anti-American agenda.

You Americans are so funny. You are all so wrong. Many of us thought that America was a world leader. You are all so stooped in some very childish and irrelevant things. No wonder many of us argue that Americans are small-minded! A man comes along who can truly help the entire world and you are so busy destroying him! You raise people up, only to tear them down again! Pretty pathetic for a world super-power!
You say that Obama has some bad associates (do you mean Jeremiah Wright? Or are you still trying to link him to Farrakhan?). Obama is not responsible for his Pastor, just like McCain is not responsible for John Hagee and Hillary is not responsible for ___________ (who’s her pastor anyway?).
It seems Americans would rather have an aethist or an adulterer for a President rather than a good family man who professes Christianity because you sound like David Duke! Nobody is trying to assert blacks over whites (or whatever you are trying to say.)
So many of you Americans have been demonizing Muslims and have even tried to claim that Obama is one. Aren’t Muslims and zealots like John Hagee and Rod Parsley (who has called for the destruction of Islam) part of American society? How come you all behave like this and still call yourselves the “free world”?

Like, he chose the church. People rode Romney about his perfectly acceptable and bland religious beliefs. Will you be the first one to cast a stone? Whatever you hate in Jeremiah Wright is eating you up even as you read this comment and you need to repent for your sin. Judge not, lest ye be judged. Are you perfect? Have you never sinned? Barack Obama has already denounced those words. It is un-christian to expect him to denounce the man. Paul taught us to hate the sin but love the sinner. It is your kind of Christianity and religiosity that Jesus came to deliver us from. Think about it. Jesus was controversial! Jesus unsettled the people of his day with his words. He came to set hearts on fire. His message drove the authorities and the religious leaders crazy. You also need to appreciate that certain black people actually saw slavery with their eyes and they are justified in their anger. Remember Barack never saw slavery. He is the son of a Kenyan black man and a white Kansas woman. Do not lump him in with Jeremiah Wright.

I don’t give a rats ass what kind of religion anyone is as long as they do not impose their will upon me, which socialist Obama and his hateful Preacher buddy are eager to do. Surely, if your hated David Duke would be the 30 year advisor to John McCain, I think your reaction would be quite different. Tax whitey, the source of all evils. Mmasingira Mtembor doesn’t understand that it’s OK not to like people that hate you, hate their country, etc. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with judging or taking note of Wright’s insanity. It’s not my fault that insanity is repeated from coast to coast in little churches that say things white people have no idea about, nor any idea how venemous it is.
Also, may I remind you, slavery ended in this country in 1866. No one from then is alive. None of the kids of those people are alive. None of their grandkids likely enough. I hope Obama is nominated and, in light of the Republicans’ pathetic choice to oppose him, wins the election. At that point, the requirement of “sensitivity” toward blacks starts to crumble.
Everyone will be faced with a stark choice: submit quietly, or play politics as usual. I choose Door No. 2. No matter how delicately they have been forced to tread in the past, Republicans are not going to kneel and kiss Obama’s hem; they will understand they must either oppose him with force majeure or go out of business.
A president is powerful, but even he can’t insist on immunity from criticism on “why can’t we all get along?” grounds. Nor can a president who ran as a black man claim that he is a racial victim. People will get used to hearing a minority group member being criticized and resisted. A taboo will be broken.
