I am literally speechless. Huh!?! This photo and this story should be brought up whenever the topic of “gay marriage” comes up:
Some of the most unlikely attendees of Sunday’s kinky leather fetish festival were under four feet tall.
Two-year-olds Zola and Veronica Kruschel waddled through Folsom Street Fair amidst strangers in fishnets and leather crotch pouches, semi and fully nude men.
The twin girls who were also dressed for the event wore identical lace blouses, floral bonnets and black leather collars purchased from a pet store.
Fathers Gary Beuschel and John Kruse watched over them closely. They were proud to show the twins off.
Incidentally, Miller Brewing Company is one of the sponsor’s of this event, which infamously featured a mock Last Supper in its advertising where a bunch of freaks dressed in bondage gear were arrayed like Jesus and the Twelve Apostles. Big business and pro-business politicians should never be confused with conservatives; businesses exist to make money, and they’ll gladly promote counter-cultural causes so long as they can make a buck off of it. They’ll also support tyranny and just about anything else, as evidenced by their dealings with countries like Iran, Burma, and China.

Steve I gotta agree with you there. Having become inured to the clever things that shreiking queens say and do I just accept them for the self-centered bores they are and move along. It’s attention seeking behavior why reward it?

I wouldn’t necessarily lose a lot of sleep over the event, proper. But we’re talking about kids and adoption and other ludicrous developments since ‘89. It’s one thing if the anti-gay vibe of conservatives in ‘89 had been discredited; instead, there worst predictions keep coming true.

I guess in San Francisco a “conservative” is someone who doesn’t think kids should be at a sado-masochism festival. I’m surprised this John Kruse (a pseudonym — or homo nym — if I ever heard one) didn’t say, “There are reactionaries against having kids at the event.”

I have a pet theory. While these people like to call Christians un-hip, square, prude, and uptight, they have their own version of “foul language.” You can’t say anything “too judgmental,” that suggests sexual mores might include something beyond consent, anything racist, nationalist, eugenics-oriented, or the like. Setting aside the merits of any such sentiments, they are shot down, castigated, and used to condemn the speaker without any engagement.
These displays are not so much hateful as contemptuous. They show no respect and mock things that others hold sacred. This is the essence of a culture war, but the right, with few exceptions (Tom Wolfe for example!) is out to lunch in the culture department and not producing our own art, movies, books, comedies, jokes, and the like to mock this sort of stupid celebration that, like Kabucki Theater, is predictable and uninteresting.

Even this non-Christian thinks this is disgusting. I’m a father of three and cannot fathom taking my children to a place where someone masturbates in the street. Gods… even Austin is not that bad.
